<br>Among Scotland's most successful innovation teams is beginning again with a new company - and has [secured](https://taar.me/read-blog/8434_the-ins-and-outs-of-betting-on-the-nfl-draft.html) the greatest preliminary investment of any British start-up company.<br>
<br>BetDEX is being led by Nigel Eccles, who co-founded dream [sports betting](https://demo.shoudyhosting.com/qtoa/?qa=86959/sports-minister-tracey-crouch-resigns-delay-betting-crackdown) site [FanDuel](https://wooshbit.com/read-blog/18705_how-much-are-americans-investing-in-sports-betting.html) in 2009 in Edinburgh.<br>
<br>The new firm has seed funding of $21m.<br>
<br>It intends to release a new open source software application platform, on which others can [innovate](https://ca.viquiblo.org/index.php/Usuari:BruceStapley0) in [sports betting](https://issosyal.com/read-blog/10048_how-are-betting-odds-calculated.html) wagering, in the first half of next year.<br>
<br>The company is [hiring personnel](https://islider.ru/read-blog/41313_begin-winning-with-pcg-college-football-picks.html) from a base in Scotland.<br>
<br>[FanDuel](https://friendza.enroles.com/read-blog/31622_sport-betting-industry-looks-to-protect-itself.html) was sold to [Flutter -](https://connectworld.app/read-blog/198_start-winning-with-pcg-college-football-picks.html) formerly called Paddy [Power Betfair](https://www.amedaychats.com/read-blog/778_just-how-much-are-americans-investing-in-sports-betting.html) - in 2018 and is now worth more than $30bn.<br>
<br>However, Mr Eccles and other co-founders are in legal conflict with FanDuel's later phase financiers over the way in which they structured a takeover, which left the Edinburgh team without a share of the increasing assessment.<br>
<br>Mr Eccles stated that one thing he learned from the FanDuel experience was to pick financiers carefully.<br>
<br>He [informed BBC](https://terra.planetv.wtf/read-blog/671_.html) Scotland: "We took a lot of lessons from that, one of which was the significance of who we pick as investors in this new business, to guarantee their worths are aligned with ours, that they take their fiduciary responsibilities responsibly, and that they're the right partners for us."<br>

<br>Varun Sudhakar, [president](https://www.jaitun.com/read-blog/15255_exploring-the-sports-betting-industry-putting-ideas-into-practice.html) of BetDEX, stated: "The [sports betting](https://nubiantalk.site/read-blog/12264_how-fantasy-betting-app-development-companies-and-sports-developers.html) wagering industry charges high costs for bad items and limits trades by its most successful users.<br>
<br>"BetDEX is diametrically opposed to this method. We will effectively complete against incumbents with a significantly superior product and low charges, which is now possible with the development of the blockchain innovation."<br>
<br>As chairman of the brand-new company, Mr Eccles stated it could look familiar to retail punters utilized to existing online companies.<br>
<br>'Pool of talent'<br>
<br>However, he says that those who utilize its platform to run their own wagering companies will be able to innovate and produce a larger series of wagering products.<br>
<br>He stated the normal share taken by online bookmakers is 7% to 10% of a stake, but BetDEX should enable that to fall below 1%.<br>
<br>The business will establish its own wagering apps to operate on the platform.<br>
<br>Mr Eccles said these would take an "intelligent, thoughtful" approach to the way they are marketed to protect those who deal with issue gaming.<br>
<br>He stated the team of around 500 software application engineers who helped develop FanDuel from Scotland revealed that it remains the location to construct a firm. BetDEX has the very same head of innovation, Stuart Tonner.<br>
